What are cavities ?

What happens if you don't fill a cavity?


Left untreated, it's possible for a cavity to eventually reach your nerve, which would put you in some serious pain. Once a cavity reaches a root, it will necessitate a much large procedure, such as a root canal or an extraction. Both of those procedures are much more involved than your everyday cavity filling.




What do the beginning of cavities look like?


When a cavity begins to develop, it can cause dark spots on the tooth's surface. At first, these spots may look like simple staining and you may even assume that you just have mild tooth discoloration. However, over time, the dark spot gets larger, signaling tooth decay

  2. Stay Hydrated. When your mouth is very dry, it allows bacteria to accumulate, which can cause cavities.

  3. Use Fluoride.

  4. Rinse With Salt Water.

  5. Avoid Refined Sugars.

  6. Chew Xylitol Gum.
